About Peter Lee

Professional Statement

Peter Lee, MD, PhD, MPH, MS, FACS, FACC, FAsMA, FAWM, is a cardiothoracic surgeon with Adena Health. He provides surgical care for conditions affecting the heart, lungs, and chest, bringing advanced training in cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplantation, and ventricular assist devices.

Dr. Lee completed his general surgery residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center through Tufts University School of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. He then completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at UCLA, followed by fellowship training in heart/lung transplantation and ventricular assist devices at Stanford University.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Lee has held academic appointments at The Ohio State University and Brown University, contributed to peer-reviewed research, and served in leadership roles related to cardiovascular surgery, aerospace medicine, and space biomedical research.

Dr. Lee also serves in the United States Air National Guard, where he holds the rank of lieutenant colonel. His military service includes work as a flight surgeon and surgeon with the Ground Surgical Team. In 2025, he deployed to Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the 378th Expeditionary Medical Squadron.
